Sneaky Peek

Here's some sneaky pics of work which will shortly be coming to a place near you.

Surprise at the weekend, when I realised for three days in February I will have work on show in 3 Exhibitions at the same time!!!!  Wheeeee.  So if you want a tour that weekend, you need to go to Bishop's Stortford in Hertfordshire, Cottenham in Cambridgeshire and then Saskatchewan in Canada.... all details are over on the right.

The Canadian exhibition is a further venue for the touring collaborative work made by The Material Girls here in the UK and Articulation in Canada - "Bridging Waters - Articulated Materials"

So here's a look at some of my work to be on show.....
To be found at Bishop's Stortford
8th Feb-7th Mar

These will be at Cottenham
21st-23rd Feb
The Materials Girls will have a shop
with artist made goodies for sale

Would be good if you could come along and visit - and don't forget I will be at Cottenham on the Friday.

Exhibiting Now (and poss in future...)

The Material Girls collaborative exhibition moves on, starting today until 10th January:

Also today, received the dates for the Rochford Art Trail next year!  I intend to work towards it, but its a while off yet, and is subject to submission and acceptance.
Rochford Art Trail
18th-27th September 2014
there will likely be special events during the Trail too.  The Trail has also won awards:
The Art Trail was named the winner in the ‘Culture and Environment’ category for the East of England before going on to take the overall prize for the East of England.
Judges of the Towns Alive Awards said:
“The Rochford Arts Trail combines artists’ creativity with a level-headed approach to marketing a town and measuring the benefits.
Importantly too, this annual event keeps growing and adding new twists so that visitors come back for more.”

And breathe.....

Phew....
In the last few days I've:
~ prepared and dealt with paperwork
~ finished mini art pieces
~ been on a design/research trip
~ helped to put up an exhibition
~ prepped more paperwork from another source

I very much need to chill, might explode otherwise.  Why does it all arrive at the same time?  I really can't do any more right now, on top of personal stuff, I am worn out.  I had hoped by now to find some peace, but far from it.  As my friend Anne would say, some days have rated themselves as "definitely a 3 chocolate bar day".  And I did buy some, but not touched yet.  As long as I get tea straight into a vein, I can survive - and the design trip out did involved tea and cake!
The three little snippets I showed in a previous post have ended up as these:

They are all actually the same photograph, variously zapped on the puter, printed onto canvas, with hand stitching and beads. Aqueous I, II and III.  Up for sale at the Material Girls Exhibition in Maldon, which opens today!
Very little taster piccies, but I hope you will go along to visit.  This is your last chance to see panels in the UK, in our collaboration between Material Girls and Articulation.  In 2013 all the panels make the journey across to Canada, for display there.
I've one more event to prep for, and then its   b r e a t h e.  Well hopefully, but I know from the past there may well be "can you just....."

Exhibition NOW ON!!!

The Material Girls Exhibition is now on - see the flyer below or via my MG page above.
Last night was the Private View, on an unusually warm February evening.  Lots of support from visitors who seemed to enjoy the display.
Go to The Material Girls blog where you can see a snapshot detail of the Thames Barges made by the group (not myself as I joined after this project was completed).   If you don't know... the Thames Barge is a style sail boat, particular to the area.
The Exhibition is OPEN TOMORROW MORNING - I will be there stewarding, alongside Chris and Margaret so do come along and say hello.
